I’m Heading to Nepal to Volunteer with the Acupuncture Relief Project

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: this October 2025, I’ll be traveling to rural Nepal for 9 weeks to volunteer as an acupuncturist with the Acupuncture Relief Project (ARP)—a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing accessible, high-quality healthcare to rural and underserved communities.

Many of Nepal’s remote villages lack access to even basic medical care. Chronic pain, untreated injuries, respiratory and digestive issues, and the emotional effects of poverty and trauma are part of daily life for many people there. Acupuncture Relief Project steps in to fill that gap—offering compassionate, patient-centered care through acupuncture, herbal medicine, manual therapies, and health education.

Over the past decade, ARP has provided over 500,000 free patient visits—and I feel deeply honored to be joining that mission.

During my 9 weeks in Nepal, I’ll be working alongside a team of practitioners in rural clinics, treating dozens to hundreds of patients each week. In addition to acupuncture, we’ll be offering diagnosis, education, and building meaningful relationships within the community.
